When the record Spiteful from Sonny Vincent and Spite hit the
shelves last year the music world went ape. '77 style punk rock was
back in a big way and helmed by all things a supergroup. Yes,
Sonny Vincent of Testors fame collected all his friends from the
height of punkrockdom to record his record. Rat Scabies from the
Damned, Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols, Steve Mackay from
Stooges fame, and then he got Larry Ramirez to produce the record.
It was considered a new punk rock masterpiece(and is still available
in the USA on Ultramac Records and in Europe on Still Unbeatable
Records).
Sonny wasn't done, he saved two songs from
the recording to
specically put out on his favorite punk/garage label, Big Neck
Records. These two tracks are exclusive to Big Neck Records and
have not been released on the American or European version of
Spiteful. Two killer rock n roll tunes. Side A starts with “Mary
Ann”and is all Sonny Vincent with a '77 style punk rock ode. Great
guitar hooks, Scabies shredding his kit, Glen throwing bass ris left
and right to drive the song and then Larry Ramirez comes in with an
amazing guitar solo. Phenomenal. Side B, “Inection” is truly a
Stoogesesque song, guitar, bass, and drums are barely in control
throughout the entire song, intertwining to pull us in and psych us
out at every turn. Then Steve throws in the sax and and he shreds
them all to pieces. Truly amazing.
